A spoonful of good reading and writing makes a writer’s world go round!
Would you like to start your writing week on a positive, creative, energized note? “A Spoonful of Ink” is an inspiring e-letter for women writers I email once a week. It’s totally free, and the only way to receive it is by getting on my exclusive mailing list.
Sign up using the form below. I’ll gently show up in your inbox each Monday morning for a few minutes while you’re sipping your favorite cuppa. Each issue includes a short letter from my heart to yours and a carefully curated treasury of best resources and stories for writers I’ve came across in the past week and saved for you.
One of my most devoted readers says that it’s one of the best, most useful newsletters she’s ever had (thank you, Janice!) She says it makes her remember the good old days when newsletters were all ‘hand-curated’ like this.
Am I also going to promote my writers’ community, master classes, and services?
You bet I will. The Inky Path is my business, and I make my living by running my fabulous writers’ collective and offering unique workshops, classes, and guides to women writers around the globe. My newsletter is one of the ways I get the word out to my readers, students, and wider community. I hope you’ll take advantage of what I offer when it’s a good fit for you.
However, I do more in my weekly newsletter than promote my offerings. I’d like to connect you with other writers (including some who create quietly and out of sight). And I want to bring you bits of wisdom, inspiration, and resources about writing.
Every Monday when you see “A Spoonful of Ink” in your inbox, I want the sight of it to encourage and energize you. I want it to remind you that you, your words, your writing matter; and that you’re a part of a collective of women writers supporting you in your creative work.
“One of Cigdem’s characteristics is her values. They run deep. Everything is thorough, well-crafted, and with a sense of completeness. As a facilitator, she complements her evoking writing with a gentle presence, fluff free.”
~ Monicka Clio Sakki, Artist, Writer, and Creativity Mentor
When you sign up, I’ll also send you two PDF books as my thank-you gifts. The first one, “True Stories from the Interior,” is a book that includes ten of my personal stories and ten accompanying writing prompts on difficult topics. I have no doubt this little book will inspire you whenever you need a gentle, loving nudge to reconnect with yourself and keep practicing writing.
The second one is a mini field guide called “How to Write a Captivating Narrative Essay.” It explores some of the best techniques the masters of modern storytelling use to write captivating narrative essays. Both are yours to download and keep with your free subscription.
“This felt like a personal coaching session, thank you for that gift! Thank you for sharing this profound wisdom, I needed your words.”
~ Terri Jackson, Writer and Photographer
“My heart is leaping out of my chest, Cigdem! This is so amazing for my logical brain and I can play so well with my creativity/writing with this framework. Thanks for this.”
~ Aarathi Selvan, Clinical Psychologist, Teacher, and Guide

“Cigdem is extraordinary. You cannot be anywhere in her sphere of influence without being compelled and propelled into action and transformation. She is winsome and wise; a woman with whom you would be privileged to connect and work; a woman you want to know.”
~ Ronna Detrick, Writer and Speaker
“Being part of The Inky Path is just filling and emptying me simultaneously. I’ve never found such an accepting space to write truth in. Me and I had a morning blether—me said ‘this is unlike anything I’ve ever done’ and I replied ‘it’s by far the best thing you’ve ever done.’ I’ve been telling everyone just how amazing and wonderful and inspiring and gutting and everything this is. I’ve never written such raw and open stories before. Thank you for such a trusting place to explore.”
~ Jackie Roberts, Psychotherapist, Coach, and Radio Host
“I wake up in the middle of the night, and I check my phone for new stories. I wake up in the morning and read more stories over my breakfast. I love each and every single contribution I’ve read. I want more. I check my phone through the day, not wanting to miss a word. And the stories that haven’t been shared yet, or written yet, I so hope they see the light of day here…because we are ourselves here, we are our authentic selves.”
~ Sue Shobert Jorgenson, Spiritual Guide, Healer, and Writer
“I absolutely relish Cigdem’s prompts. They never fail to start a little tornado, a good tornado, of muses and reflections, forming the words that eventually get put down. At times I write off the top of my head, unedited, and other times, it takes some thought and framing before I write.”
~ Dawn Sully Pile, Co-Active Coach, Speaker, and Seminal Leader
“Writing. Stamina. I love this experience. Our writing is becoming a string of stories that paint a much larger picture. The words are flowing and they just won’t stop. Maybe I ‘will’ write that book some day.”
~ Sue Ann Gleason, Writer, Holistic Health Specialist, and Nourishment Guide
