Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How can I join The Inky Path Women Writers Collective?
All you have to do is use the contact form at the end of this page to send an email in which you tell me a bit about yourself and why you’d like to join The Collective. If you’d like to read the details about our community again, you can find them all here. After I receive your message, I’ll get in touch and invite you to complete your registration and join our community space.
Q: I don’t call myself a writer. Can I still join?
Of course! As long as you love writing and want to develop and maintain a writing practice for any reason (self-discovery, creative expression, writing joy, healing, career, business, publication—you name it!) you’ll enjoy and benefit from The Inky Path Women Writers Collective. In fact, most of us are not solely writers. We are also artists, makers, freelancers, teachers, coaches, and consultants. What unites us, though, is our love for writing and the fact that writing is our number-one mode of expression. Besides, if you don’t like it or change your mind, you can easily cancel your subscription. There are no contracts or long-term agreements, and the membership fee is charged from month to month. Isn’t it worth giving a try?
Q: Do I have to participate in the group activities and share my writing with the other members? Can I, instead, write quietly on my own?
Participating in the group and sharing your writing is encouraged but not required. You can write as you want. Some of our members turn my weekly writing prompts into an opportunity to keep themselves accountable so that they can practice writing regularly and develop a writing habit. Other members do the same, but they also share their writing and keep themselves accountable to the group because that’s what works for them.
You’re free to take what you like and need and do just that. We have many introverts among the group (including myself, the founding Inkster!) and I understand that writing sometimes needs a deeper kind of quiet and solitude. Just come in and have a taste of our community and prompts!
I also want you to know that this is a “should-free” environment. There is no need to “keep up” with anything. A period of laying low might be following by one of commenting and writing prolifically; we all have ebbs, flows, and busy lives. This community is here to support you, not to add more to your plate.
Q: Do you accept submissions for The Inky Path Magazine? How can I send my submission and what are the guidelines?
Yes! The members of The Collective (aka the Inksters) will be the first to know about each upcoming issue’s theme and an early-bird submission deadline. However, I’ll share these also on the website and social media and welcome submissions from the general public.
Q: Do you have a calendar for your Deep Writing Intensives?
I announce each new class on the website and in my weekly e-letter to my subscribers. Sign up so you get informed first. The themes of our previous monthly Deep Writing Intensives are “Mother, Mother,” “Money and I,” “Writing What Is,” “Five Colors,” “Delight,” “Writing with Rumi,” “Different,” “No Place Like Home,” “Gotta Have Faith,” “Fairy Tale,” and “Unsent Letters.” When you join The Inky Path Women Writers Collective, you’ll also get full access to the complete material of these five-day deep writing quests, which you can use whenever you want when you wish to enliven your writing practice.
Q: What is your background and qualifications?
I’m so glad you asked! I’m a natural community builder with a passion for writing. Learn more about my story and how I founded the The Inky Path here.
Q: Can I interview you? What do I have to do? And what if I’d like to be interviewed by you?
Of course! I’d be delighted to answer your questions if you have a blog or publication for writers or related to writing.
Q: Do you have an affiliate program?
If you’re interested in my affiliate program, please contact me using the form below and tell me about your specific audience and in which ways you’d like to promote my inky programs and The Inky Path Women Writers Collective.
