Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How can I join The Inky Path Writers Community?
All you have to do is go to this page and become a member. If you want to read all of the details again, you can find them all here.). After you complete your subscription process, you’ll automatically receive the welcome document that has all the information you need to step into the community and start taking part in our writing activities and events. You’ll also get on a special email list so you can receive the members-only discounts for our upcoming workshops.
Q: I don’t call myself a writer. Can I still join?
Of course! As long as you love writing and want to develop and maintain a writing practice for any reason (self-discovery, enjoyment, healing—you name it!) you’ll enjoy and benefit from The Inky Path Writers Community. Besides, if you don’t like it or change your mind, you can easily cancel your subscription. There are no contracts or long-term agreements, and the membership fee is charged from month to month. Isn’t it worth giving a try?
Q: Do I have to participate in the group activities and share my writing with the other members? Can I, instead, write quietly on my own?
Participating in the group and sharing your writing is encouraged but not required. You can write as you want. Some of our members turn my weekly writing prompts into an opportunity to keep themselves accountable so that they can practice writing regularly and develop a writing habit. Other members do the same, but they also share their writing and keep themselves accountable to the group because that’s what works for them.
You’re free to take what you like and need and do just that. We have many introverts among the group (including myself, the founding Inkster!) and I understand that writing sometimes needs a deeper kind of quiet and solitude. Just come in and have a taste of our community and prompts!
I also want you to know that this is a “should-free” environment. There is no need to “keep up” with anything. A period of laying low might be following by one of commenting and writing prolifically; we all have ebbs, flows, and busy lives. This community is here to support you, not to add more to your plate.
Q: Do you accept submissions for The Inky Path Magazine? How can I send my submission and what are the guidelines?
Yes! Inky Path Members (aka Inksters) will be the first to know about each upcoming issue’s theme and an early-bird submission deadline. However, I’ll share these also on the website and social media and welcome submissions from the general public.
Q: Do you have a calendar for your two-week writing intensives?
I announce each new class on the website and in my weekly e-letter to my subscribers. Sign up so you get informed first.
Q: How can I get on the waiting list for a writing intensive?
Go to this page where self-paced writing intensives are offered. I also have waiting lists so you can be among the first to be notified as soon as a registration begins for future classes.
Q: What are your backgrounds and qualifications?
I’m so glad you asked! I’m a natural community builder with a passion for writing. Learn more about my story and how I founded the The Inky Path here.
Q: Can I interview you? What do I have to do? And what if I’d like to be interviewed by you?
Of course! I’d be delighted to answer your questions if you have a blog or publication for writers or related to writing.
And if you’d like to be considered for my Inkerview series, click here and fill out the form.
